Making Memories: A Review of El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico

Today, I’m excited to share our recent adventure at the beautiful El Conquistador Resort in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. My husband and I were thrilled to escape the everyday grind and immerse ourselves in the tropical paradise of Puerto Rico for four delightful days. If you’re considering a trip to this part of the world, here’s an inside scoop on our stay!

El Conquistador Resort, Puerto Rico

After a scenic hour-long drive from San Juan, we arrived at El Conquistador Resort, greeted by the warm smiles of the resort’s wonderful staff. Their hospitality was a delightful start to our vacation, making us feel welcome from the moment we stepped into the grand lobby.

Let’s talk about the grounds – breathtaking doesn’t even begin to cover it! The resort sprawls across lush landscapes, with stunning ocean views at every turn. The meticulously maintained gardens, sparkling pools, and vibrant flora create a picturesque setting that feels like stepping into a postcard. Whether you’re lounging by the pool, wandering through the gardens, or gazing out at the ocean, the beauty of El Conquistador is truly mesmerizing.

The View at El Conquistador Resort

Our room was spacious, with a lovely balcony offering a panoramic view of the ocean – a perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine paired with a meat and cheese board. The bathroom was generously sized as well, but here’s where things took a slight dip. Despite the ample space, it felt a bit dated. The sunken tub was unappealing and small, and the shower’s water pressure left something to be desired. It was a minor disappointment compared to the otherwise fantastic experience, but it is worth mentioning for those who prioritize modern amenities like I do.

The resort offers a variety of dining options, and we found the quality and taste consistently excellent. I particularly enjoy the guava pancakes at Ventanas Restaurant. They were nothing short of amazing! Fluffy, flavorful, and topped with a delightful guava syrup – it was the perfect breakfast treat that I eagerly looked forward to at least three out of the four mornings of our stay.

Given that El Conquistador is about an hour from San Juan, renting a car might be necessary if you plan to explore beyond the resort. We rented a car and found it convenient to venture out to local attractions and experience more of Puerto Rico’s vibrant culture and natural beauty.

We also decided to Uber to nearby Kalizo Seafood Bar & Grill. The Uber price was extremely reasonable and the food was Yum…

Overall, our stay at El Conquistador Resort was a wonderful blend of relaxation and adventure. The stunning grounds and wonderful staff made our vacation truly memorable, despite the room’s dated aspects. If you’re looking for a picturesque getaway with excellent service and delicious dining, El Conquistador is a fantastic choice.

Until next time, happy travels!
